The Győri ETO FC , Győri Egyetértés Torna Osztály Football Club , is a Hungarian sports club from Győr , a medium-sized town in the northwest of Hungary. In 1904 the association was founded under the name Győri Vagongyár ETO . There have been numerous name changes in the club's history. The name Rába ETO Győr (1965–1985) is best known . The club colors are green and white.

Soccer

The club's footballers play their home games in the ETO Park , which has a capacity of 16,000 spectators. The new stadium, the ETO Park, was completed in 2008. The club won the championship four times (1963, 1982, 1983, 2013) and the national club cup four times (1965, 1966, 1967, 1979). In 1964/65 the team advanced as Vasas ETO Győr in the European Cup to the semi-finals and was only stopped there by Eusebios Benfica Lisbon .

For 55 years the club played continuously in the first division. Due to financial difficulties, the club was denied the top class license in 2015. Since then, the team has played in the 3rd division.

Other sports departments

There are other successful departments in other sports throughout the club. The handball departments , which can boast numerous national and international successes, are particularly well known . For example, the men's team won the IHF Cup in 1986 as Rába Vasas ETO Győr .

In addition, the association operated ice hockey teams , which in 1992 became self-employed as Győri ETO HC .
