Diego Rottensteiner (born May 11, 1984 in Graz ) is an Austrian football player on the position of a striker . The striker played for SK Sturm Graz from summer 2003 until the end of the 2006/07 season . He is currently under contract with SVU RB St. Stefan ob Stainz in the Styrian Regional League West.
Career
The former Austrian U-21 international was named after his father's idol, Diego Maradona . His first club was SK Sturm Graz . Rottensteiner has already been used by Sturm in the Bundesliga several times.
For the 2007/08 season he moved on loan from SK Sturm to Kapfenberger SV to collect match practice in the first division . After Kapfenberger SV took the purchase option, the club management decided Rottensteiner, after having completed 30 championship games, six goals and the championship title of the First League in the 2007/08 season, from the beginning of the 2008/09 season to the promoted to the First League, the 1. FC Vöcklabruck . At this point, however, Rottensteiner was already an integrated regular player for Kapfenberg.
After 15 league games, but without scoring, he left the Vöcklabrucker club at the end of the 2008/09 season after the club ran into financial problems and had to stop playing.
The 2009/10 season at SVL Flavia Solva started quite well for Rottensteiner. In the first nine games of the season without any real scoring, he managed a flawless hat trick on October 2, 2009 in the 10th round in a 5-1 home win over FC St. Veit . Just eight days later, on October 10, 2009, Rottensteiner achieved a similar feat. In the 6-1 away win over SV Allerheiligen, he scored his first goal after 32 minutes, and another three should follow in the second half. After these two games it was a made-to-measure debut for him. However, the league could not be prevented, which is why the trained striker decided for the DSV Leoben . After two seasons at DSV Leoben, he moved to league rivals FC Gratkorn . From January 1, 2013 until the end of the 2012/13 season he was active as a striker for SV Pachern in the Styrian regional league.
In the summer of 2013 he moved to the fifth division club FC Lankowitz , from which, after two years under the new coach Mario Haas, he moved back to SV Pachern, who now also played in the fifth division. In addition , Rottensteiner , who works full-time as a teacher at the NMS Albert Schweitzer in Graz , is also a junior trainer at SV Pachern.
