Markus Buchinger (born November 9, 1981 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian football player in the position of a striker, who was temporarily a professional at the Vienna sports club and played for a long time in the Regionalliga Ost for various clubs. Most recently he was under contract with SV Spillern as a player-coach.

Career

player

Born in St. Pölten, he began his career in Vienna with First Vienna FC 1894 in 1986. At the age of twelve, he moved from Döbling to Hernals to join the youth team at the Vienna Sports Club . When he came to his first minutes in the fighting team, the Vienna SK played in the Regionalliga Ost, but in his first season he also had to cope with a relegation to the Vienna City League . After four years in the fourth division, he rose again in the 2000/01 season in the Regionalliga Ost. Inspired by this, the club was able to make the march and was in the relegation for the first division . There they met the last of the first division, FC Lustenau . He was used in the first leg at home, but the match ended in a draw. In the second leg he was not taken into account. In Lustenau, the sports club won 4-0 and Buchinger was promoted to the first division. But after only about a year, the Erste Liga experiment was over again; the sports club ended up in last place and had to relegate back to the Regionalliga Ost. After twelve years in Hernals, Buchinger moved to league rivals Kremser SC . After half a year he moved again to a league competitor, this time to SV Würmla . An unspectacular year later, he moved back to a club in the same league, SV Schwechat . In 2007 he not only changed the club, but also the league and went to the Lower Austria regional league for SV Langenrohr . After two good seasons, he ventured back into the Vienna City League and joined SC Columbia Floridsdorf . There he was able to gain promotion in a strong season and was back in the Regionalliga Ost in the following season. Once again after a season in the league, the sports club signed up again, where he started his coaching career as a youth coach. After two years at his old place of work, he moved to various clubs in the lower class, where he mostly acted in parallel as a player-coach.

Trainer

His coaching career began at the Vienna Sports Club as a youth coach. In 2013 he was assistant coach under Wilhelm Kaipel for half a year . In 2015 he started as a player-coach at USC Altenwörth . After a year he changed clubs and became player-coach at SV Spillern, where he is currently under contract.
