The sports club Würmla is an Austrian football club from Würmla in Lower Austria .
history
As a reaction to the newly established sports facility in Würmla , members of the city council founded the Würmla sports club , which played in the lowest league, 2nd class Wienerwald, for the first time in 1969. It was only after eight years that he achieved his first sporting success: promotion to 1st class Northwest. Due to a league reform, the club rose in the 1986/87 season to the lower league Northwest-Waldviertel, where after only two years he was able to celebrate his first championship title in the lower league in 1989 and thus rose to the upper league West. The first big years of the club came in 1994: As a runner-up he was able to secure promotion to the 2nd regional league in relegation. In the next year, SV Würmla was able to rise again as runner-up and again through relegation to the 1st regional league. In the following season, the sports club took third place in the table and, thanks to a new league reform, was transferred to the Regionalliga Ost - the third highest division in Austria. Although Würmla was considered a relegation candidate several times, the club was able to assert itself in the Eastern League until 2001 , when, however, then had to relegate back to the regional league. In 2004 Würmla succeeded in rising again, in which the class could be held as thirteenth in the table. After six seasons in the regional league, 2010 was again relegated to the regional league.
