Volker Piesczek

Volker Piesczek (born May 14, 1969 in Klosterneuburg ) is a former footballer and Austrian television presenter.

Career as a football player

Before his career in television, he was a professional footballer in the Austrian Bundesliga , including at SV Stockerau , Wiener Sportclub (28 appearances in the Bundesliga), SV Langenrohr , VSE St. Pölten and VFB Mödling.

Career as a moderator

Piesczek studied journalism and political science parallel to his football career. Piesczek owes his breakthrough in television to sport. He worked for ATV for 7 years as head of football and as a presenter for the program "Volltreffer" on the Austrian and German Bundesliga. Before that, he worked for Sat.1 and DSF Plus and Premiere (forerunner of SKY) in the Austrian and German Bundesliga as a soccer host. But he also worked as a news reporter for ORF 2 and in 2000 he presented the island show "Expedition Robinson" for ORF 1 and RTL II . In 2004 he switched to Puls TV and ProSieben Austria , where he presented "Austria Top News" alternately with Helmut Brandstätter .

In 2008, Piesczek took part in the ORF soccer show “ Das Match ” as part of the Euro in Austria and Switzerland .

From 2010 to 2013 he moderated the magazine "ATV Life" on ATV. In 2011 and 2012 he was awarded the Austrian film and television prize Romy in the category Most Popular Presenter - Entertainment . In 2009 he was awarded the "Eurosolar Prize" for his documentary "Energiestadt Güssing". In 2011 he came second in the journalist of the year election in the sports category.

On August 5, 2013, he returned to PULS4 and moderated the program Guten Abend Österreich until 2015 , then the program iLIKE . In autumn 2016 Piesczek left PULS4 again.

From March 2017 to April 2017 he was a celebrity candidate in the ORF dance show Dancing Stars .

2018 commented on OE24 games of the football World Cup in Russia. In summer and autumn 2019 he produced and moderated the talk format "Volker on Fire" for ATV.

Trivia

In 2003 Piesczek had two guest appearances in the television series Kommissar Rex (episodes: Famous at any price , vitamins to die for ).

He has been married to the former Austrian politician Eva Glawischnig since June 2, 2005 .

Together with Norbert Oberhauser , Eric Papilaya and Pepe Schütz, he has been performing as a swing formation with the group “The Rats Are Back” since 2013. Among other things, at the Starnacht am Wörthersee in 2017 and at Christmas 2018, ORF 2 broadcast the "The Rats Are Back Xmas Show". Since 2018, he has also been the "advertising face" for an Austrian prefabricated house company.

In 2017, Volker Piesczek began training as an NLP trainer and coach for solution-oriented consulting.
