Robert Gruberbauer (born November 29, 1988 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian football player in the position of a striker, who temporarily played as a professional at SKN St. Pölten in the First League and is currently under contract with SCU Kilb in the 1st regional league .

Career

Born in St. Pölten, Gruberbauer began his career in 1994 at the lower-class SV Weinburg club . There he played for nine years, then he moved on to the academy of the SKN St. Pölten. There he was able to play his way up through the SKN Juniors to the combat team, where he also became a regular player in 2007. In the 2007/08 season he was able to rise to the first division with SKN St. Pölten from the Regionalliga Ost . However, a cruciate ligament rupture stopped the successful run at SKN in February 2013. When the injury had healed after 252 days, Gruberbauer could no longer build on his successes. When Gruberbauer was not taken into account after his recovery, he said goodbye to the SKN after seven years with 161 played games and moved back to the Regionalliga Ost in Vienna for First Vienna . But after a moderate season with a meager three goals in 27 games, Gruberbauer went one step lower in the Lower Austria regional league for SV Langenrohr . Gruberbauer was able to flourish again in the first season there. In Langenrohr's 14-1 win against ATSV Ober-Grafendorf , he scored five goals alone. At the end of the season, 21 goals stood out in 28 games played. The 2016/17 season, however, was slow, with only one goal in 15 games played until the winter break. The rest of the season, with the exception of one match, he was always on the field and was able to score three more goals. But this is not enough for Langenrohr and so he moved on to the 2nd regional league West for SCU Kilb , with which he won the championship title in 2018.
