Franz Maresch (born June 28, 1972 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian soccer player and now coach .

Career

As a player

Maresch started his career at FK Austria Wien . He made his debut for Austria in the Bundesliga in September 1990 when he was in the starting line-up against First Vienna FC on matchday ten of the 1990/91 season and was finally replaced by Hannes Pleva in the 64th minute . For the 1991/92 season he moved to the regional division FC Stadlau . In January 1992 he joined the league competitor SC Zwettl . In the summer of 1992 he moved to the second division First Vienna FC. In 1993 he returned to Stadlau.

In January 1995 Maresch moved to the Lower Austrian regional division SC Untersiebenbrunn . At the end of the season he was promoted to the regional league with Untersiebenbrunn. For the 1995/96 season he went to league rivals ASK Kottingbrunn . After just six months he returned to Untersiebenbrunn. In January 1998 he returned to the meanwhile fourth-rate playing SC Zwettl. With the Zwettlers he was promoted to the regional league in 1999. In January 2000 he went to ASK Baumgarten . In January 2002 a second engagement with Vienna followed. After just six months he moved to the national division SV Langenrohr . For the 2003/04 season he went to league rivals SC Himberg . In January 2004 he moved back to Vienna for the city division club SV Donau Wien . For the 2005/06 season he moved to SC Columbia Floridsdorf , where he finally ended his career in 2007.

As a trainer

After his career, Maresch was coach of SC Columbia Floridsdorf . He led Columbia from the fifth-rate league to the third-rate regional league . After the 2010/11 season he moved to the league competitor Wiener Sportklub . In October 2012, Maresch was dismissed from the sports club. From July 2013 to October of the same year he was a brief coach at the WAF Brigittenau . Maresch then worked as a scout at SCR Altach . In October 2016 he became coach of the city division 1. Simmeringer SC . In the winter break of 2016/17 he moved to the second division Floridsdorfer AC , with whom he received a contract valid until June 2018.

After ten games, Maresch was given leave of absence in April 2017.
