The Fotbalová národní liga (FNL) , also Druhá fotbalová liga , 2. fotbalová liga , or Druhá liga or 2. league for short is the second highest division in Czech football . A professional license is required to participate.

The 2nd Czech Football League has been played in the same mode by the Czech Football Association ČMFS since the 1993/94 season . 16 teams take part, everyone plays against everyone once at home and once away. A total of 240 games will be played in 15 first-round and 15 second-round match days. The champions are the team with the most points, with three points for a win and one point for a draw.

The season usually lasts from the beginning of August to mid-June of the following year with a winter break from mid-November to mid-March.

In addition to the champion, the table runner-up also rises to the top division, the Synot League . The two last placed teams have to relegate to the double-track third division, teams from Bohemia are divided into the ČFL , teams from Moravia and Moravian-Silesia into the MSFL .

From 2006 to 2009 it was possible to freely acquire or sell the professional license. Before the 2006/07 season it made use of SC Xaverov Horní Počernice , SK Hanácká Slavia Kroměříž and FK AS Pardubice , who sold their licenses to Bohemians 1905 Prague , SFC Opava and FK Baník Sokolov . Before the 2007/08 season Jakubčovice Fotbal sold his license to FK Dukla Prague . Before the 2008/09 season, the newcomer from the MSFL, SK Sigma Olmütz B sold his license to the MFK Karviná .

During the 2012/2013 winter break, the league was renamed Fotbalová narodní liga (FNL).
