The SC Xaverov Horní Počernice is a Czech football club from Horní Počernice , a district on the outskirts of the capital Prague . From 1977 to 1995 and again from 1998 to 2006 Xaverov played in the second highest division of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic.

Club history

The association was created in 1966 from a merger of Slavoj Horní Počernice and Slovan Horní Počernice as TJ Xaverov Horní Počernice. Xaverov, a poultry company based in Horní Počernice, took over the patronage of the club. The club colors were yellow and green, a chick was to be found in the club logo and soon the team was also called that. Many well-known players let their careers end on the outskirts of Prague.

After several promotions in a very short time, Xaverov reached the second highest Czechoslovak league in 1977, the ČNL. Xaverov was able to place himself in the front several times, but it was never enough for promotion to the first division. In 1990 the club name was changed to SK Xaverov Praha, the club colors were adapted to the city colors red, black and white.

From 1991 to 1993 the 1st team played under the name 1. FC Terrex Praha. 1995 followed the relegation to the 3rd division ČFL. In 1998 you had to leave this too. It came to cooperation with the second division SK Chrudim, who played his games in Horní Počernice in the 1998/99 season. Xaverov himself, the club was called SC Horní Počernice at that time, started as a kind of B-team only in the 5th division. In the summer of 1999, both clubs merged to form SC Xaverov Horní Počernice.

The SC Xaverov reached 2000/01 with the fourth place in the 2nd division the best club result, the promotion place in the 1st division was missed by ten points. In 2004 Xaverov was relegated to the ČFL, but managed to get promoted again immediately.

Shortly before the end of the 2005/06 season, General Director Vojtěch Tomi announced that he would give up the club's second division license because of the conditions that could be found in Czech football. For a long time it looked as if he would not find a buyer, finally he reached an agreement with Bohemians in 1905 .

In the 2006/07 season only SC Xaverov junior teams take part in the game.

Tipsport Cup

Xaverov also became famous for hosting the Tipsort Cup winter tournament on its own artificial turf field from 2003 to 2005, when leading Czech teams prepared for the second half of the season. Xaverov was able to win the tournament himself in 2003.
