Martin Frýdek (born March 9, 1969 in Hradec Králové ) is a Czech football player and coach .
Player career
Martin Frýdek played for Spartak Hradec Králové and Agro Kolín in his youth . From 1989 to 1990 he did his military service at VTJ Karlovy Vary. He then played for Sparta Prague for seven years where he was one of the best players. During this time Frýdek also made 37 international matches for Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic in which he scored four goals. In 1997 the little midfielder moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen . There he was just as unable to assert himself as he was a year later at MSV Duisburg . In 1999 he returned to the Czech Republic and signed with FK Teplice , where he was able to build on his old form for the first two years. After four games in 2001/02, he was sorted out for poor performance. In January 2002 he moved to the 2nd division to SC Xaverov Horní Počernice where he played until 2004. He then worked for FK Semice. From August to November 2005 he played for Dukla Prague . Since April 2006 he has been playing for TJ Město Zbiroh on the side.
Coaching career
In 2004/05 Martin Frýdek coached FK Kolín in the 3rd division, but the team was relegated and he received no new contract offer. Since 2005 he has been a trainer in the junior division of Sparta Prague.
family
His son Martin is also a soccer player and played his first international match for the Czech Republic on March 24, 2016.
