Horst Siegl (born February 15, 1969 in Schlackenwerth ) is a former Czech football player .
Player career
He received his football training from Slavia Karlsbad since 1978. In 1987 he moved to the Czechoslovak first division club Sparta Prague . Siegl was eleven times Czechoslovak junior selection player between 1988 and 1990 and scored four goals. After completing his military service at RH Eger between 1989 and 1990 , he returned to Sparta in 1990.
In 1995 Siegl went to Germany to the relegation-threatened 1. FC Kaiserslautern and returned after 13 Bundesliga games with 1 goal in the DFB-Pokal in Homburg / Saar in extra time, winning the DFB-Pokal and the club's relegation to the second division after the season Prague back. In 2001 he left Sparta and moved to FK Marila Příbram . Since 2004 he has played for Viktoria Pilsen . Siegl has been part of FK Siad Brüx since the 2004/05 season . He ended his professional career in 2006 and has been assistant coach at Sparta Prague ever since . When time permits, he played for fourth division club Marila Votice. In early 2009 he moved to FK Chmel Blšany . He ended his career there in 2010.
The striker scored 175 goals in his 409 appearances in the Czech / Czechoslovak 1st division. He scored 13 goals in 61 cup games. Between 1991 and 1998 Siegl completed 23 games for the national soccer teams of Czechoslovakia and from 1993 the Czech Republic, in which he scored seven times in the opposing goal. Siegl is the top scorer in the Gambrinus League with 124 goals scored in 285 games since 1993 .
Futsal
After his career in professional football, Siegl played futsal at irregular intervals for the Czech first division club FC Benago Zruč nad Sázavou .
Coaching career
Siegl began his coaching career during his playing career as an assistant to Zdeněk Ščasný at FK SIAD Brüx in the 2005/06 season. From 2006 to the end of 2008, the former striker was assistant coach at Sparta Prague.
