Gambrinus League 1997/98

The Gambrinus Liga 1998/99 was the sixth season of the top Czech division in football . It was held from August 2, 1998 to May 30, 1999 with a winter break from December 1, 1998 to February 20, 1999.

16 teams played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first half and a second half.

Defending champion Sparta Prague managed the title hat trick and became Czech champions for the fifth time. Sparta qualified like the second FK Teplice for the Champions League . Cup winners Slavia Prague and Sigma Olmütz played in the UEFA Cup , FC Boby Brno and FC Hradec Králové competed in the Intertoto Cup .

Viktoria Plzen and FC Karviná were relegated to the Druhá fotbalová liga .
