Tomáš Votava (born February 21, 1974 in Slavičín , ČSSR , now the Czech Republic ) is a former Czech football player .

Career

The 1.82 m tall and 76 kg heavy right-footed Votava was a defender . He began his career at Spolana Neratovice (1984–1991) before moving to Sparta Prague . After a six-month stint at Dukla Prague (1993), he switched back to the Czech record champions. At 1860 Munich , he played in four years (1999-2003) in the Bundesliga . He then moved to Cyprus to join APOEL Nicosia for a year (2003/04). After two unsuccessful years in the 2nd Bundesliga with Greuther Fürth , he joined Dynamo Dresden at the beginning of 2006 . In 2008 Votava ended his active career.

National team

For the Czech national football team , Votava played a total of 13 international matches between 1998 and 2001 in which he did not score.

Others

Together with his former teammates Pavel Nedvěd and Vratislav Lokvenc , Votava took part in the Prague half marathon on March 27, 2010 .
