The 1st fotbalová liga 1993/94 (1st football league 1993/94) was the first season of the top Czech league in football . It was held from August 14, 1993 to June 8, 1994 with a winter break from November 29, 1993 to March 4, 1994. 16 teams played against each other twice over a total of 30 match days, divided into a first half and a second half.

The 1st Czech League was established after the separation of Czechoslovakia into two separate states on January 1, 1993 , namely the Czech Republic and Slovakia . From the 16-team 1st Czechoslovak League , nine of the ten Czech clubs qualified. The six best teams from the Bohemian-Moravian group of the 2nd Czechoslovak League, the ČMFL , were promoted to the new 1st league.

These were Viktoria Žižkov , Petra Drnovice , Viktoria Pilsen , Union Cheb , Slovan Liberec and Svit Zlín . Seventh-placed LIAZ Jablonec had to relegate to the worst-placed Czech team in the 1st Czechoslovak League, FC Bohemians Prague, and lost 1: 1 and 0: 2.

Sparta Prague became the first Czech football champion . Second place went to Slavia Prague . FC Vítkovice Kovkor and Dukla Prague had to relegate .

Horst Siegl from Sparta Prague was the top scorer with 20 goals .
