Róbert Kafka (born April 2, 1962 in Bratislava ) is a former Slovak football player .

Club career

Kafka started playing football with TJ Láb. Between the ages of 12 and 17 he played for Slovan Bratislava , after which he returned to Láb .

Kafka's first stop in the adult sector was Spoje Bratislava in the 1981/82 season. In 1983 the midfielder moved to FC Zbrojovka Brno in the second Czechoslovak league. At the beginning of 1987, Kafka went to the then first division club RH Cheb to do his two-year military service there. The Slovak scored 13 goals in 55 games for Cheb.

In January 1989 Kafka returned to Brno and rose with Zbrojovka in the 1st Czechoslovak League. Kafka played a major role in keeping the team up: he scored 18 goals in 30 games.

The Slovak then moved to the French Division 2 for FC Bourges . After two years he returned to Brno, after only half a year he moved on to FC Petra Drnovice . Kafka stayed there for a total of five and a half years. He scored 15 goals in 126 top division games. In 1996 and 1998 he reached the final of the Czech Cup with his team , in which the team lost both times.

For the 1998/99 season Kafka moved to FC Karviná , but rose with the team. The Slovak then played in lower-class leagues in Austria , the B-team in Drnovice and his former youth club ŠK Láb, where he was also a player -coach .
