Karel Vácha (born August 2, 1970 in České Budějovice ) is a former Czech football player .
Career
Karel Vácha started playing football in Hluboká nad Vltavou , when he was 15 he moved to Dynamo České Budějovice . Between 1989 and 1991 he did his army service at RH (later renamed SKP) Sušice and then returned to České Budějovice . There the striker became a fixture in the top division team. After eleven goals in 23 games in the 1995/96 season, he was signed by the then Czech champions Slavia Prague and was able to meet expectations with 14 goals in the 1996/97 season.
On September 6, Vácha came on for his first appearance for the Czech national football team , in the game against the Faroe Islands in Toftir , he came on in the 55th minute for Pavel Kuka . What looked like the beginning of a great career, however, was already the climax for the technically outstanding but not very robust striker. He scored just six goals that season, and when Jaroslav Hřebík was the new coach at Slavia in the summer of 1998 , the striker ended up on the bench. His former coach at Slavia František Cipro brought him to Tirol Innsbruck in the fall of the Austrian Bundesliga , where he could not find his way back to his old form. 1999 Vácha moved to his old club SK České Budějovice , where he had to witness a relegation to the 2nd division in the summer of 2001. In early 2003, the Czech tried it in neighboring Slovakia at FC Petržalka 1898 , where he initially played regularly, but was later rarely used.
In the summer of 2004 Vácha returned to where his career had started, after Hluboká nad Vltavou in the 5th Czech league. In the 2005/06 season he also worked as František Cipro's assistant coach at Dynamo České Budějovice.
With 54 first division goals, Karel Vácha is Dynamo České Budějovice's most successful goalscorer to date.
