Josef Obajdin (born November 7, 1970 in Poděbrady ) is a former Czech football player .
Club career
Josef Obajdin played for his hometown club TJ SB Poděbrady until he was 15 . In 1984 the attacker switched to Sparta Prague . From 1989 to 1991 he did his military service at VTJ Tábor . The 1991/92 season he began with the second division club Škoda Pilsen , but went to Dukla Prague during the year , for which he completed five first division games. The following season he started in the 2nd division at SK Poldi Kladno , but soon moved to Slovan Liberec , who rose to the 1st division at the end of the season.
Obajdin was in very good shape in Liberec, scoring eleven goals in 28 games in 1993/94. In the first half of the 1994/95 season Obajdin made ten goals in 14 games and was then committed by Eintracht Frankfurt . In the Bundesliga , however, he could not really gain a foothold due to injury concerns and only made three games for Hessen. The first half of the 1995/96 season he played again for Slovan Liberec and moved to Sparta Prague in January 1996. Obajdin stayed there for five years and scored 29 goals in 146 games. Although in good shape, he was in the 2001/02 season by the new coach Jaroslav Hřebík only irregularly and moved in January 2002 on loan to the Greek first division club Omonia Nicosia . After half a year Obajdin went back to Prague, but could not achieve a regular place again. He was loaned to Bohemians Prague , where he failed to score in ten games. Back at Sparta he was only used in the second-rate B team.
When Obajdin's contract with Sparta expired in 2004, the now almost 34-year-old striker was without a club. A short time later he was hired as a contract amateur by the sixth division club Sokol Jindřichovice pod Smrkem and loaned out to third division club Slovan Varnsdorf in spring 2005.
In early 2006, Obajdin moved on loan to the Polish first division club Wisła Płock , where he was used sporadically. The coach there was his compatriot Josef Csaplár . In summer 2007 Obajdin returned to Varnsdorf . In July 2008 Obajdin moved to Arsenal Česká Lípa. In the 2009/10 season he was in the squad of Sokol Jindřichovice.
National team
For the Czech national soccer team Obajdin played on December 13, 1995 in a 2-1 win in Kuwait .
