The first FK Příbram is a Czech football club from the Central Bohemian town of Příbram . The club was formed in 1996 from a merger of FC Příbram with Dukla Prague .

Club history

This section covers the club history of FC Příbram until 1996. For the history of the merger partner, see Dukla Prague .

In 1928, the SK Březové Hory sports club was founded in Březové Hory . He played in the lower leagues until 1968, when he was promoted to the fourth division, the Divize , because he was already under the name Baník Příbram. Third place meant promotion to the newly created 3rd division. 1974/75 Příbram closed the ČNL, Group A, in first place and rose to the 2nd league, in which the team was able to hold until 1981. The return to the 2nd division was only possible in 1994.

In 1996 there was cooperation with Dukla Prague. Dukla took over the place of FC Příbram in the 2nd division, which in turn started as FC Dukla Příbram in the ČFL, the 3rd division. Dukla Prague rose in 1997 to the first division and moved the club headquarters to Příbram, the club name was FC Dukla, without a place name. It wasn't until 1998 that the club called itself FC Dukla Příbram. Since 2000 the sponsor name Marila has replaced the name Dukla.

This year the club took part in the UEFA Intertoto Cup . After a success against ASK from Linz , he was eliminated by Aston Villa . In 2001 Marila Příbram reached fourth place in the Gambrinus League, the best placement in the club's history, even if the club refers to the successes of Dukla Prague. This meant the start in the UEFA Cup of the 2001/02 season, in which the French club CS Sedan could be defeated 4-0 and 1-3. In the following round they were eliminated 1: 6 and 2: 2 against PAOK Saloniki .

Between 2002 and 2006 Marila moved mostly in the lower midfield of the league, in 2006/07 the team was relegated to the second division , but immediately rose again.

successes

All of these successes were achieved by Dukla Prague.
