Beangrowers is a Maltese musical group . Their music can be assigned to the music style indie . She landed her biggest hit in New Zealand in 2002 : The single Jose Clemente reached a remarkable 7th place.
history
The band has remained unchanged over the time of its existence and consists of Mark Sansone (bass; * 1977), Ian Schranz (drums, vocals; * 1977) and Alison Galea (vocals, guitar; * August 7, 1977). Their peers have known each other since they were children in St. Julians, Malta . Galea's father was a singer himself, as well as a guitarist, DJ and actor. In addition to his preoccupation with the bass, Sansone wrote passionately short stories . Schranz gave up tennis and guitar to perfect his drums and found less and less time for his hobbies of painting and graphic design . While the latter first delivered newspapers and then taught English, Galea worked in various shops and offices. All three began studying communication science , while they played music together, with Galea initially using the keyboard, but increasingly concentrating on guitar and singing. When Phillip Boa became aware of her, he hired her for the background vocals of his voodoo club .
After the official founding in October 1995, the first demo tape was available in 1996 , which contained the sound of science fiction films from the 1950s. In 1998 a contract was signed with Rough Trade and in 2000 the debut album 48k came out. The first single made it into the top 20 of the German Alternative Charts (DAC). The self-titled second album was completed in 2000 and released on April 9, 2001 in continental Europe; he was followed on October 25, 2004 by Dance Dance Baby . The fourth album by the band Not in a Million Lovers was released on February 22, 2008. After the release in Austria on April 12, 2008, it was also released in Malta, the homeland of the Beangrowers.
