Czech football championship 1994/95

The 1st fotbalová liga 1995/96 ( 1st football league 1995/96 ) was the third season of the top Czech league in football . It was held from July 28, 1995 to May 17, 1996 with a winter break from December 3, 1995 to February 15, 1996.

16 teams played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first half and a second half.

Slavia Prague was already leading the table by four points during the winter break . The club did not give up the lead in the standings by the end of the season and was confirmed as champions three game days before the end of the season. The red-whites qualified for the Champions League . Defending champion Sparta Prague landed in fourth place and took part in the European Cup Winners' Cup as a cup winner . Vice-champion Sigma Olmütz played in the UEFA Cup , and newly promoted FC Kaučuk Opava started in the UI Cup .

FK Union Cheb filed for bankruptcy after the season. Slovácká Slavia Uherské Hradiště and FC Svit Zlín relegated to the Druhá fotbalová liga .
