Luboš Kozel (born March 16, 1971 in Vlašim ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach .

Luboš Kozel began playing football at Jawa Divišov. At the age of 15, the defender moved to BS Vlašim in his hometown. In 1989, Kozel was signed by ČSAD (later Švarc) Benešov. After good performance in the 2nd division Kozel moved to Slavia Prague in the summer of 1993 . With Slavia Kozel became Czech champions in 1995, in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup , the team reached the semi-finals.
On December 13, 1995 Luboš Kozel had made his debut on the libero position in the Czech national team. In the qualifying game for the 1998 World Cup against the Faroe Islands on August 20, 1997, he scored his only goal in a total of nine international matches, the game ended 2-0.
In early 2002, he moved to Újpest FC in Budapest , who also signed Radek Slončík . In the Hungarian league Kozel completed 24 games in which he scored two goals. In January 2003 he returned to the Czech Republic and from then on played for FC Bohemians Prague . Kozel, who had knee problems throughout his career, played ten games for Bohemians and moved to Viktoria Plzen after half a year . Kozel played nine games in Pilsen and ended his career after the first half of the season due to injury concerns.
Trainer
Immediately after his playing career, Kozel returned to Slavia Prague and initially worked as an assistant for the B team. In summer 2005 he took over the position of head coach for the second team. For the 2007/08 season Luboš Kozel signed a two-year contract with FK Jablonec . After only six points from the first new games, Kozel was released on October 8, 2007. A week later he became assistant coach at Slovan Liberec . After Kozel was released from Slovan Liberec in November 2009, he took over the post of head coach at the second division club FK Dukla Prague in December of the same year .
