Tomáš Poštulka (born February 2, 1974 in Prague ) is a Czech football player on the goalkeeping position .
Club career
Poštulka started his career at Sparta Prague in 1980 . From 1991 played for a year in Costa Rica with Carmen Alajuela . After his return he played for the first division clubs Dukla Praha and FK Drnovice for some time , in 1995 he moved to SK Hradec Králové and won the Czech Cup there. His reputation as a “penalty killer” also stems from this period - he saved every second penalty kick .
In 1997 Sparta Prague engaged him again and won the Czech competition five times in a row with this club, so he could also take part in the international Champions League and UEFA Cup competitions. At this time he was called up to the Czech national team and participated in the eliminations for the European Championship 2000 .
In 2001 the FK Teplice signed him . In 2005, Poštulka caught the eye when he went clean for 600 minutes. At the beginning of 2007 he returned to Sparta Prague , where he was initially the new number one after moving from Jaromír Blažek to 1. FC Nürnberg ; but later he lost his place to Tomáš Grigar .
After Blažek returned to the 2008/09 season, Poštulka moved to FC Viktoria Pilsen . In the winter break of the 2009/10 season Poštulka moved to the second division club FC Zenit Čáslav .
National team
After nine missions for the Czechoslovak U-15 and U-16 selection Poštulka completed seven games for the Czech U-21 national team between 1994 and 1996 . The goalkeeper made his senior national team debut in the 2-1 win over Ireland on March 25, 1998 in Olomouc . In the further course of the year Poštulka came to six more missions. His last appearance in the Czech dress was the 4-1 victory over Estonia on October 14, 1998 in Teplice .

Poštulka's father is former goalkeeper and current coach Jan Poštulka .
