The Scottish Championship has been the second highest football league in Scotland since 2013 . and a division of the Scottish Professional Football League. She succeeded the Scottish Football League First Division .

Promotion / relegation

The first place goes straight to the Premiership . Participants in the relegation from the championship are the teams in second, third and fourth place in the table. In addition, there is the eleventh-placed team from the Premiership. The winner of each round will be determined in two games, with the teams that were third and fourth at the end of the championship season meeting each other in the first round. After that, the winner of this game plays in the second round against the second-placed team from the championship. The last round will be played between the 11th place from the Premiership and the winner of the second round. The winner of the third round receives a place for the new season in the Premiership.
