The Tulloch Caledonian Stadium is a football stadium in Inverness , Scotland . It is the home of the Scottish football club Inverness Caledonian Thistle and seats 7,711 people.

history

In 1994, the two Scottish football clubs Caledonian FC and Inverness Thistle FC merged to form the new club Inverness Caledonian Thistle. As a condition for the merger, they received the order to build a new stadium within the first three seasons, as the old stadium, Telford Street Park, no longer met the requirements of the Scottish Football Association .

On October 3, 1995, construction began on the new stadium in Longman; It was inaugurated on November 9, 1996 with the league game against Albion Rovers (1: 1).

After promotion to the Scottish Premier League in 2004 , the club had to rebuild and enlarge the stadium. In the first half of the season, all home games were played at the Pittodrie Stadium in Aberdeen , while the main shareholder, the Tulloch Construction Company , expanded its own stadium to a capacity of around 7,500 spectators. Since Tulloch also took on a large part of the costs, the stadium was officially named after the company.
