Premier League 2012/13

The Scottish Premiership 2013/14 was the first edition of the highest Scottish football division since it was founded in 2013. It was also the 117th edition of the highest division within the Scottish Football League in which the Scottish champions were determined. The new league replaced the Scottish Premier League and was run by the Scottish Football Association. The season started on August 2, 2013 and ended on May 11, 2014.

In the new season, after the 1st round and the final 2nd round with the championship and relegation play-offs, there were relegation games between the eleventh place in the Premiership and the second, third and fourth in the championship . This was the last time in the highest Scottish football league in the 1996/97 season .

As a newly promoted from the First Division came Partick Thistle in the Premiership . Celtic Glasgow started the season as defending champions . With a 5-1 away win against Partick Thistle seven game days before the end of the season, Celtic was able to successfully defend the title from the previous year. It was also the third consecutive championship for the club, as well as the 45th in the club's history since the first title in the 1892/93 season . The goalkeeper of Celtic Fraser Forster also set a new record with 1,256 minutes without conceding a goal, breaking Bobby Clark's Scottish record from the 1970/71 season .
