The Scottish Football League Division One was played for the 68th time in 1967/68 . It was also the 71st edition of the top soccer division within the Scottish Football League in which the Scottish champions were determined. It began on September 9, 1967 and ended on April 30, 1968. In the 1967/68 season, 18 clubs competed against each other in a total of 34 game days. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted .
The championship won for the 23rd time in the club's history Celtic Glasgow . The Bhoys qualified as champions for the following European Cup season-1968/69 . The runner-up, as well as the third, fifth and sixth place, the Glasgow Rangers , Hibernian Edinburgh , FC Aberdeen and Morton qualified for the Exhibition Cities Cup . As a cup winner , Dunfermline Athletic qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup . The FC Motherwell and Stirling Albion climbed into the Division Two from. The top scorer was Bobby Lennox from Celtic Glasgow with 32 goals .
