The Scottish Football League 1892/93 was the third season of the highest Scottish football league . It began on August 20, 1892, and ended on May 20, 1893 and was the last season that was still equipped without the addition of "Division One". From the next season, the remaining league members formed "Division One", while the unelected and not re-elected were transferred to "Division Two". In the 1892/93 season, 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 18 game days. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the clubs (with the same number of points) were placed tied.

The championship won for the first time in the club's history Celtic Glasgow . The FC Abercorn and FC Clyde did not receive re-election of the other League members, and hence promoted to the Division Two from. The top scorers were Sandy McMahon and John Campbell from Celtic Glasgow with 11 goals each .

    Election procedure

    The regulations of the Scottish Football League stipulated that the three worst-placed teams had to stand for re-election at the end of the season. Voting took place at the annual general meeting of the Scottish Football League, at which new admissions were also decided. The unelected or re-elected clubs (except Linthouse FC ) formed the Scottish Football League Division Two , which played its first season the next year.
