The Scottish Football League Premier Division was held for the 18th time in 1992/93 . It was also the 96th edition of a top soccer division within the Scottish Football League in which the Scottish champions were determined. In the 1992/93 season, 12 clubs competed against each other in a total of 44 matchdays. Each team played twice at home and twice against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted .
The Glasgow Rangers won the Scottish Championship for the 43rd time in the club's history. The Gers qualified as champions for the 1993/94 Champions League season . As a defeated cup finalist , FC Aberdeen qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup . Third, fourth and fifth placed Celtic Glasgow , Dundee United and Heart of Midlothian qualified for the UEFA Cup .
