The Scottish Premier League was played for the 13th time in 2010/11 . It was also the 114th edition of the highest soccer division within the Scottish Football League in which the Scottish champions were determined. In the 2010/11 season, 12 clubs competed against each other in a total of 38 match days. Each team played once at home and away against every other team in the first round. Then the league was divided into two halves, in which the teams played against each other again. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted .
The Glasgow Rangers won the Scottish Championship for the 54th time in the club's history. The Rangers qualified as champions for the 2011/12 Champions League season . Runner-up and cup winners Celtic Glasgow , as well as third-placed Heart of Midlothian and fourth-placed Dundee United qualified for the Europa League . Hamilton Academical rose at the end of the season in the First Division . With 21 goals Kenny Miller of the Glasgow Rangers was top scorer.
