The Scottish League Cup was played for the 64th time in 2009/10 . The Scottish League Cup, which was played among the participants of the Scottish Football League and the Scottish Premier League , began on August 1, 2010 and ended with the final on March 21, 2010 at Hampden Park in Glasgow . As defending champion, Celtic Glasgow started the competition that had prevailed against the Glasgow Rangers at the Old Firm in the previous year's final . In this year's final, the Rangers met FC St. Mirren . The Rangers won the title for the 26th time.
