The FC Montrose (officially: Montrose Football Club ) is a Scottish football club from Montrose . The club currently plays in the Scottish League One , the third highest division in Scottish football.
The club was founded in 1879. In 1929 they were allowed to join the Scottish Football League . However, one had to wait until the 1970s for greater success, when Montrose was able to reach 3rd place in the "old" First Division. But even later the club was mostly found as the "elevator team". You got promoted more often, like in the First Division in 1984/85 , but mostly relegated straight away.
