The cup competition played among the participants of the Scottish Football League and the Scottish Premier League could win the Glasgow Rangers . In the final, Rangers beat Hibernian Edinburgh 2-1 and were able to defend their title from last year. If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, there was a penalty shoot-out.
