William Ferguson Miller , MBE (born May 2, 1955 in Glasgow ) is a former Scottish football player and football coach . He holds the club record for most games with 558 games. He is currently President of Aberdeen FC .

Active career

In 1972, at the age of 17, Miller signed a contract with Aberdeen FC and became captain of the team four years later. Miller, who played in central defense, was, along with Alex McLeish, the main reason for Aberdeen's success in the 1980s, winning three Scottish Premier League and four Scottish FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 1982/83 season . After sustaining an injury during a Scottish team game, Miller retired in 1990

Scottish national team

Miller received 65 appearances for the Scottish national football team and scored one goal. In 2004 he was a founding member of the Scottish Football Hall of Fame .

Success as a player

Coaching career

In February 1992 Miller was introduced as the new coach of Aberdeen FC. However, he was fired after two second places in the league and after losing two cup finals in February 1995. In May 2004 he was introduced as the new president of Aberdeen FC.

Television career

He worked as a commentator and analyst for the BBC during the 1995 coaching period and when he returned as president in 2004
