Danny McGrain , actually Daniel Fergus McGrain (born May 1, 1950 in Glasgow ) is a former professional footballer (central defender) and played for Celtic Glasgow .

He also made 62 caps for Scotland and competed in the 1974 World Cup and, as captain, in 1982.

He was diagnosed with diabetes as early as 1974, but that did not prevent him from continuing his professional career.

Although he was a supporter of the Glasgow Rangers as a child and was also watched by the club, he was not hired by the Rangers as his name suggested he was a Catholic. McGrain, however, was a Protestant.

So he earned the greatest respect at Celtic and completed 661 games for Celtic. 4th place on the all-time list of missions.
