Career

societies

Brian Laudrup began his professional career in 1986 at Brøndby IF , moved to Germany in 1989 and initially played one season with Bundesliga club Bayer 05 Uerdingen . He made his debut on July 28, 1989 (1st matchday) in a 3-0 home win over FC Homburg . On August 23 (5th matchday) he scored his first two goals when Hamburger SV was defeated 5-2 in the home game. In the summer of 1990 , Laudrup moved to Bayern Munich , where the Dane completed two more first division seasons and scored eleven goals in 53 games.

Laudrup moved to the Italian first division club AC Florence in 1992 and a year later to AC Milan . For the 1994/95 season he moved again and played four years for the Scottish first division club Glasgow Rangers . Laudrup finally moved to Chelsea in England in 1998 , but only stayed there until winter, after which he returned to Denmark and signed with FC Copenhagen . However, his time in Copenhagen was unsuccessful. Due to the disappointing performance of Laudrup, his commitment was described as a "major misunderstanding". Kim Brink, the then coach of FC Copenhagen, announced two weeks before the end of the season that Laudrup was no longer planning; meanwhile it turned out that when he signed his contract in Copenhagen he had signed two contracts. In the summer break of 1999, Laudrup moved again abroad to the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam . After the 1999/2000 season, in which Laudrup was one of the regular players, he ended his career due to an Achilles tendon injury.

National team

On July 23, 1984 Laudrup wore the jersey of the Danish national team for the first time when he lost with the U-17 selection in Akureyri (Iceland) - as part of a youth tournament - against the selection of Norway with 1: 2. For the U-19 team he made his debut on October 1, 1985 in Frederikshavn in a 6-4 win over Austria's team; for the U-21 national team on June 2, 1987 in Hvidovre when they lost 1-0 to the Czech Republic .

For the senior national team he played 82 times between 1987 and 1998 and scored 21 goals. He played his first game on November 18, 1987 in Århus in the 1-0 defeat against the German Olympic team , his last on July 3, 1998 in Nantes during the World Cup in France in the 3-2 defeat in the quarter-finals against Brazil . His greatest success at international level was winning the 1992 European Championship in Sweden.

Laudrup was also part of the Danish national futsal team , which participated in the 1st Futsal World Cup in 1989 , but was eliminated after the preliminary round.
