Sports Hall of Fame
Sportens Hall of Fame is a gallery of honor dedicated to outstanding Danish athletes. The Danish edition of a Hall of Fame was set up in 1992 on the initiative of the Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet , the Danish Sports Association ( Danmarks Idræts-Forbund , DIF), the state organization for elite sports, Team Danmark and the operating company of the national stadium Parken . To build the gallery, representatives of these four groups initially selected ten honorary members in 1992 and are now adding a new member every year. Since 2007 the Sportens Hall of Fame has been located in the entrance area of the House of Sports ( Idrættens Hus ) in Brøndby municipality ; previously the collection consisting of busts was housed in the park. In 2016 it consists of 31 members.
