The Danish national futsal team is a representative selection of Danish futsal players . The team represents the Danish Football Association in international matches.
Performing in tournaments
At the invitation of FIFA, the Danish Football Association sent a team to the first Futsal World Cup in the Netherlands in 1989 . With Jan Rindom , Torben Johansen , Brian Laudrup , Lars Olsen , Peter Bonde , Bent Egsmark Christensen , Jacob Svinggaard , Ole Møller Nielsen , Sigurd Kristensen , Kurt Jørgensen and Erik Trude Jensen , the team consisted exclusively of large field professionals, some of them Danish A- National player. The national coach of the football team, Richard Møller Nielsen , acted as coach . After an opening defeat against hosts Netherlands and a draw against Paraguay, the victory at the group conclusion against Algeria was only enough for 3rd place and thus not for advancement. As a result, a Danish national team sent by the association did not appear again until 2012.
