Performing in tournaments

The Croatian national team had its most successful phase around the turn of the millennium, when two participations in the European Championship and one participation in the World Cup were achieved. While they failed in the preliminary round at both European Championship finals, they reached the second round at the 2000 World Cup in Guatemala after victories over Costa Rica and Australia, in which they were eliminated in third place after a victory against the Netherlands and defeats against Spain and Portugal.

The team is already qualified to host the EM 2012.
