European Futsal Championship 2003

The 4th European Futsal Championship was held in Italy from February 17 to 24, 2003 . Eight national teams took part in the tournament, initially in groups and then in a knockout system . The Italian host team won the title for the first time .

qualification

Venues

The EM was held in two different venues for the first time. The main venue was the PalaMaggiò in Castel Morrone near Caserta , in which, in addition to two preliminary round groups, the semi-finals and finals were held. It has a capacity of 8,000 spectators.

The Palazzetto dello Sport in Aversa served as the second venue. It served as the venue for the two preliminary round groups. The Palazzetto also has 8,000 seats.

Attendees

Eight teams took part in the 2003 European Championship, Italy was automatically qualified as host. A total of 28 nations fought for the remaining seven places, which were divided into seven groups, with only the group winners receiving a place for the final round.

The eight participants in the final round were drawn into two groups.
