European Futsal Championship 2001

The 3rd European Futsal Championship was held from February 22nd to 28th, 2001 in Moscow ( Russia ). Eight national teams took part in the tournament, initially in groups and then in a knockout system . The Spanish team won the title for the second time .

Luzhniki Sports Palace

The European Championship was held in the Luzhniki Sports Palace in Moscow. The hall offers 12,500 seats for spectators.

Attendees

Eight teams took part in the 2001 European Championship, Russia was automatically qualified as host. A total of 22 nations competed for the remaining seven places, divided into seven groups, with only the group winners receiving a place for the final round.
