The 2nd European Futsal Championship was held from February 22nd to 28th, 1999 in Granada ( Spain ). Eight national teams took part in the tournament, initially in groups and then in a knockout system . The Russian team won the title for the first time .

Venues
The EM was held in the Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Granada in Granada. It holds 7500 spectators.
Attendees
Eight teams took part in the 1999 European Championship, Spain was automatically qualified as host. A total of 24 nations competed for the remaining seven places, divided into seven groups, with only the group winners receiving a place for the final round.
