European Futsal Championship 2005
The 5th European Futsal Championship was held from February 14th to 20th, 2005 in Ostrava ( Czech Republic ). Eight national teams took part in the tournament, initially in groups and then in a knockout system . The Spanish team won the title for the third time .
qualification
Venues
The EM was held in two different venues in Ostrava. The main venue was the ČEZ Aréna , in which the semi-finals and finals were played in addition to games in the two preliminary round groups. It can accommodate 10,000 spectators.
The Hala Sareza served as the second venue. Two group games took place in the hall.
Attendees
Eight teams took part in the 2005 European Championships, and the Czech Republic automatically qualified as hosts. A total of 33 nations competed for the remaining seven places. In a first round, the seven teams with the worst UEFA coefficient played against each other in two groups. The group winners advanced to the next round, where they were drawn together with the 26 remaining teams in seven groups of four. The first in the group finally qualified for the finals.
The eight participants in the final round were drawn into two groups.
