The Hrvatski nogometni savez (HNS) ( German  Croatian Football Federation ) is the Football Association of Croatia with headquarters in Zagreb . Davor Šuker has been the association's president since July 5, 2012 .

history

The Croatian Football Association was founded in 1912 and became a member of the World Football Association ( FIFA ) for the first time in 1941 . After the Second World War , it became a part of the Yugoslav Football Association . With the break-up of Yugoslavia and Croatia's independence, an independent association was created again, which has been a member of FIFA since 1992.

The Croatian national football team plays several international matches every year and takes part in international competitions.

Application for Euro 2012

Croatia applied together with the Hungarian Football Association to host the 2012 European Football Championship . On April 18, 2007, the UEFA Executive Committee in Cardiff announced that the joint bid by Poland and Ukraine had been accepted.

UEFA five-year ranking

Placement in the UEFA five-year ranking ( previous year's ranking in brackets ). The abbreviations CL and EL after the country coefficients indicate the number of representatives in the 2019/20 season of the Champions League and the Europa League .
