The Knattspyrnusamband Íslands ( KSÍ ) is the Icelandic football association . He is based in Reykjavík .
KSÍ is responsible for the organization of football in Iceland and is therefore responsible, among other things, for the Icelandic national football team . He is also the organizer of the professional leagues Pepsideild (men) and Pepsideild kvenna (women) and the Bikar Karla cup competition . The football association has 80 clubs.
The Icelandic Football Association was founded on March 26, 1947 and joined FIFA that same year . In 1954 he joined UEFA . The greatest success so far is the quarter-finals of the 2016 European Championship in France and participation in the 2018 World Cup in Russia .
