The October Revolution interrupted the history of the association in 1917. A Soviet football association, the Sekzija futbola SSSR 'Football Section of the USSR' , was founded in 1934. Its admission to FIFA took place after the Second World War , in 1946. In 1954 the association was admitted to UEFA and later renamed Federazija Futbola SSSR , the Football Federation of the USSR . After the collapse of the Soviet Union , today's association was formed on February 8, 1992.
