The qualification for the tournaments in Hungary (2010), Croatia (2012), Belgium (2014), Serbia (2016) and Slovenia (2018) was missed, with Albania in qualifying for the Futsal European Championship 2018 in Slovenia for the first time the second qualifying round reached. Against Hungary and Azerbaijan, Albania lost their games and only reached a 6-6 draw against Bosnia, so that the team missed qualifying for the finals as bottom of the group.
For the first time Albania took part in a qualification for the Futsal World Cup in 2008 . In the first qualifying round the team met at a tournament in Malta to Slovenia , Greece and Malta. There the Albanian selection finished second with two wins and one defeat, but was eliminated because only the group winners advanced to the second round. In the pre-qualification for the 2012 Futsal World Cup in Thailand , Albania met Turkey , Finland and Estonia in the first qualifying round . Albania drew 0-0 against Finland and even a 5-3 win against Estonia, so that the team had the opportunity to reach the second round for the first time against Turkey on the last matchday. However, Albania lost to Turkey 5-2 goals, so the group was again finished in second place and Albania missed reaching the second qualifying round. Also in the pre-qualification for the Futsal World Cup 2016 , Albania dropped out prematurely as second in the group. Against France Albania lost with 1: 0 against Malta and Lithuania were not enough games derived.
