Bent Egsmark Christensen
Bent Egsmark Christensen (born February 2, 1963 in Værløse ) is a Danish football coach and former football player .
Club career
The midfielder played for Værløse BK in his youth and was active for Lyngby BK in the Danish first division from 1982 to 1989 . 1983 he became Danish champion with Lyngby; In 1984 and 1985 he won the Danish Cup. In 1989 he moved to Switzerland to the Young Boys Bern , with whom he was under contract for seven years. In 1996 he returned to Lyngby. A cruciate ligament injury ended his active career in 1997. He then stayed as a coach in Lyngby.
National team
Bent Christensen made his debut in the U-19 national team in Fürstenwalde in 1981 in a match against the GDR selection of the same age . Four appearances in the U-19s followed in 1982 and five games for the U-21 team in 1983, including qualifying for the European Championship in 1984 .
On May 18, 1988 coach Richard Møller Nielsen put him for the first time in the senior national team . In the qualifying game for the Olympic Games against Poland , he came on in the 57th minute for the other debutants of this game, Mark Strudal . In 1989 the new coach Sepp Piontek Christensen called to a tournament in Malta . On February 8, 1989, he made his first game over 90 minutes against the Maltese selection . The curious thing about this game was that until the 72nd minute there were two players with the same name on the pitch - Christensen and his namesake Bent Turbo Christensen from Brøndby IF , who made his international debut against Malta. After another game at the tournament in Malta and a substitution in the match against Belgium in August 1989, Bent E. Christensen's career as a national team player was already over. Both Bent Christensens were on the pitch again in a 1996 international B match against Scotland .
Trainer
After his active career, Christensen initially worked as an assistant to Poul Hansen at Lyngby . He was also the coach of Lyngby BK's second team. In 2003 he was head coach of Brønshøj BK in the 1st division (second Danish division) for six months . On January 1, 2004, Lyngby BK brought him back as head coach, which he held for two years. Since January 2006 he has been co-trainer at Lyngby BK, initially from Kasper Hjulmand and in the 2008/09 season from Henrik Larsen .
