Henrik Andersen (born May 7, 1965 in Amager ) is a former Danish football player .

Career

Andersen played primarily as a left defender and in left midfield. Like many Danish football players, he left Denmark as a young player and played for the Belgian club RSC Anderlecht from 1982 to 1990 . The German coach of the Danish national team Sepp Piontek nominated him for the squad for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico .

For the 1990/91 season he came to 1. FC Cologne . For Cologne, he played in 125 Bundesliga games until the end of his career in 1998 and scored five goals. However, his time in Cologne was marked by numerous injuries and long breaks. He suffered the worst injury during his greatest success as a footballer: In the semifinals of the 1992 European Championship in Sweden against the Netherlands , he broke his kneecap and then paused for months. His teammates became European champions in the final against Germany . In Copenhagen , the team was then celebrated in a car parade and Andersen was driven through the crowd with a leg in plaster.

Andersen was a players agent and scout at FC Schalke 04 . active and is today (2020) a scout at RSC Anderlecht.

When he moved to Belgium in 1982, he also settled there. Even after moving to 1. FC Köln, he kept his place of residence in Belgium. He is married to a Belgian woman, has a son and lives in East Belgium . His son Kristoffer Andersen (* 1985) is a footballer himself and currently plays for the German third division club SC Fortuna Köln .
