Lars Bastrup Jørgensen (born July 31, 1955 in Levring ) is a former Danish football player .

Adventure Bundesliga

The little Danish “blond boy” and wing racer came to the Offenbacher Kickers in 18th place from IHF Aarhus in early December 1975 at the age of 20 . He made his first Bundesliga appearance on December 6, 1975. They won 1-0 against relegation rivals Hannover 96 . It should be the first and last game under his then young coach Otto Rehhagel (37 years old). This was then replaced by the experienced Zlatko Čajkovski (52 years old, coming from 1. FC Köln ).

Bastrup became a regular (18 games in a row, but only 2 goals) in the team with players such as B. Siggi Held , Gernot Rohr and Norbert Janzon . Even he could not prevent the threatened relegation of the Kickers to the 2nd Bundesliga .

The second spring

After he moved back to Aarhus after his brief stint in Offenbach, it would be five years before he could experience his second spring in the German Bundesliga .

Manager Günter Netzer and trainer Ernst Happel brought the Danish international to Hamburger SV at the age of 26 . There the "Wiesel" became a real reinforcement and a crowd favorite (which has given HSV a large loyal Danish following to this day). He played all 34 Bundesliga games and scored 13 goals. Together with Horst Hrubesch he formed a successful storm duo.

Bastrup became German champion straight away and was also in the 1982 UEFA Cup final . He owed the title “Mr. European Cup ".

The following year he scored all three goals in the quarter-final first leg at Dynamo Kiev in the national championship competition . He defended the championship title in 1983 and won the biggest title in HSV history in Athens, namely the European Champion's Cup . In this game against Juventus Turin he was seriously injured (broken jaw) and had to be replaced early.

In the Bundesliga he had a strong competitor in the storm with Jürgen Milewski , so that he came to 25 appearances with only five goals.

Time after HSV

After two years he left HSV for home to IK Skovbakken. There he played football for another two years.

After that, the trained teacher earned his living as an entrepreneur, but kept in touch with Hamburg at times and occasionally played in the HSV old league team. Later he worked in various functions at FC Midtjylland , but has now nothing to do with football at all.

His new life

He and his wife volunteer to lead a messianic Jewish congregation in Aarhus (Denmark). From there he maintains contacts with other churches in Israel , where he has spent a few months in recent years.
