René Henriksen (born August 27, 1969 in Glostrup ) is a former Danish football player .
René Henriksen began his professional career in 1988 at the Danish club Akademisk Boldklub . In 1999 he moved to Greece to Panathinaikos Athens . With Panathinaikos , Henriksen, playing on the position of central defender , won the Greek championship and the cup in 2004 . In the summer of 2005 he returned to Akademisk Boldklub where he retired a year later.
In the Danish national team , Henriksen came on 66 missions, was their team captain and took part in the 1998 and 2002 World Championships and the 2000 and 2004 European Championships .
